  • Running tracks and stadiums with multi-purpose pitches must be surfaced with safe surfaces, and the equipment used for sports activities must be securely reinforced, in good repair and located at a safe distance so as not to endanger children’s health and lives. 

  

  • It is recommended to provide bicycle storage facilities on school grounds.

  • The site for household use shall have containers for household waste with tightly closing lids.

  • The entrance to the building must be illuminated during the hours of darkness.

  • The site must be landscaped and mown in summer and the paths must be slip-resistant in winter. The site must be regularly cleaned.
  • A pre-school with up to 60 children may not have its own plot/area and may use another space suitable for children’s play (e.g. a playground in a public place, a park area, etc.). In this case, safety measures must be in place for the arrival, return and stay of the children in that space.
  • The pre-school premises must be enclosed by a fence at least 1.5 metres high, with equipment securely fixed and placed at a safe distance, appropriate to the age and height of the children and their educational needs.
  • Playgrounds must be able to protect children from direct sunlight and precipitation and, depending on the nature of the play, must be covered with a safe surface (e.g. grass, bituminous or other artificial surfaces).
  • The sand in children’s play boxes must be protected from contamination and replaced or renewed annually. The sand shall be free of eggs of ascarids, tunicates and toxocarians. After replacement or renewal of the sand in the sandboxes, the sand shall be subjected to a parasitological test, unless the results of the sand test are provided by the sand supplier.
  • When not in use, the sandboxes must be covered to protect the sand from contamination.
