I. Personal hygiene

The skin covers our entire body and is the largest human organ.

The functions of the skin are very diverse. The skin primarily creates a protective barrier, it protects our body from the environment, maintaining its homeostasis (self-regulating process). The skin protects the body from mechanical damage and other environmental factors.

Skin care is an integral part of personal hygiene, as pollutants from the environment constantly enter the skin, the secret of sweat and sebaceous glands accumulates. On the skin of the hands, not only dirt can accumulate, but also pathogens – bacteria, viruses, rickettsia, spirochetes, as well as fungi and protozoa.

Why is it important to wash your hands?

We know that our hands are one of the main sources of infection, which is why the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends washing your hands regularly and using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Hand hygiene is the number one infection control measure that has proven to be highly effective in preventing infections and the spread of pathogens.
