Playgrounds for children

Playgrounds for children

According to the World Health Organisation, child injuries are the leading cause of child mortality. The most common injuries are related to inadequate playground or indoor equipment: broken, poorly anchored, of poor quality, or structurally defective. Safe play and leisure environments can reduce injuries to children from external factors by up to 30%.

  • Children’s playgrounds must have safe surfaces.
  • All equipment must be safe, secure and at a safe distance, appropriate to the age, height and needs of the children;
  • New playground equipment must have a certificate of conformity.
